She is simply into girls and is very protective of Christa to the point of having a crush on her. Ymir’s sexual orientation is played out very respectfully and is never at the forefront. What makes Ymir stand out is the fact that she is very subtly and coyly gay for Christa, a young girl from a royal family. Ymir is a fascinating character from Attack on Titan, a now-concluded anime series that focuses on a fantasy story a la Game of Thrones.
